Robbie Katter, State Member for Traeger

  • This week Robbie attended numerous meetings in Mount Isa with a range of groups. One area of focus this week was tourism and devising ways to best promote the North-West region to visitors and travellers.
  • He has been preparing to re-submit his Children Legislation (Indigenous Communities) Amendment Bill 2017 to Parliament, after it lapsed last year. This will create a new Blue Card framework that would empower Indigenous communities to make decisions which best serve their interests in relation to blue cards, rather than relying on a government department in Brisbane.
  • Robbie has also been making contact with stakeholders across Traeger ahead of coming up with his 2017/18 State Budget strategy.
